GRAND RE-OPENING OF 66 DRIVE-IN!!

The 66 Drive-In Grand Re-Opening was held April 18 west of Carthage Missouri.  Participants arrived from 16 states and enjoyed a hospitable community and a wonderful day of activities at The 66!   The headline movies were U.S. MARSHALS & THE WEDDING SINGER.
Vendors had booths set up in front of the big screen (where the shade can be found at a Drive-In movie) and were peddling Route 66 Wares.    The crowd was able to feast at the modern refreshment center, chat with car enthusiasts from across the nation, and make new and lasting friendships.
Highlighting the Re-opening was a film cutting (a ribbon cutting just didn't seem right!) and an award presentation made to owners Mark Goodman & Wes Alumbaugh and their families. Comments followed the film cutting by Route 66 author and historian Rob Roy.
As dusk settled over the theatre, you had a hard time knowing what year it was as several vintage autos were polished and tuned to make their season debut also.
