Craig D'Andrea
Biography
Craig D'Andrea is a 22 year old newcomer to the fingerstyle guitar community, but don't let his age fool you! In 2006 Craig placed 3rd in the fingerstyle competition at the Canadian Guitar Festival in Odessa, Ontario. He followed that up just a year later by taking 1st place in the same competition at Loughborough Lake Holiday Park. Craig's fresh take on song structure and groove as well as his personal, yet accessible, melodies have found him loyal fans and a recording contract with CandyRat Records.
Craig shows technique and ability also beyond his years on his debut release "Crazy is Catching" (March 2007, CandyRat Records). This year Craig has been touring as he tries to make his mark on the guitar world and its fans. He joined esteemed guitarists Andy McKee, Don Ross, Stephen Bennett, and Antoine Dufour for shows in Quebec, the Midwest, and East Coast.
Craig cites among his influences: Lindsay Buckingham, Don Ross, Leo Kottke, Bach, the piano, drum sets, Taking Back Sunday, Eisley, Chet Atkins, David Hasselhoff, Antoine Dufour, Andy Mckee, Senses Fail, The Starting Line, Ingrid Michaelson, Envy on the Coast, Paramore, "girls from new jersey (there's a whole bunch of them)" and "Anyone who has given me cold chills while playing their instrument."
