"I take my coffeeevehicle to probably 25 different outdoor events from May to October. Del and Pam's CGF was so much more than a coffee selling gig. The musicians, real artists, were so friendly and good natured The music was absolutely amazing. Around midnight Saturday night Del sat down and, with a guitar borrowed from Louise Ford, played some licks that were absolutely transcendant. This after the man had spent about 16 relentless hours making sure the community of the CGF was working smoothly.. No drunkeness, a beach for swimming, serviced and unserviced camping, it was simply the best event by far. I hope to be invited to come back and make even stronger coffee in 2010. Thanks again for the best time. My teen son who looked after a lot of the coffee service said he'd like to come again. This event became my benchmark for the spirit of outdoor events. I wish I could invent some events just to spend more time at Loughbrough. I'm telling everyone I meet, families, oldsters, young people....this is the must attend event if your looking for a spiritual experience.stcb"

"My oops - yes the winner at Winfield/Walnut Valley is from the U.S. Ewan's competing at the Montreal Guitar Grand Prix today - the main prize being the opportunity to play at The Montreal Jazz Festival or at The Montreal Guitar Show. I think we have to accept that many? most ? supporters of fingerstyle guitar are musicians themselves and so are able to appreciate the dedication and expertise that goes into performing fingerstyle guitar music at a high level of proficiency. I think there can be no better compliment for a musician than to be respected by one's peers. Whoever wins at the Grand Prix, it can only be good for fingerstyle guitar for the jazzers at The Montreal Jazz/Guitar Festival/Show to get a whiff of what we're doing in the fingerstyle world."

Brian O'Sullivan from Stouffville, Ontario wrote:
"Thanks Del and Canadian Guitar Festival organizers for the opportunity your festival presented to Ewan Dobson. His win at your festival enabled him to compete at the Winfield Festival (which I believe is generally recognized as the world championship). He placed a very respectable 3rd at Winfield against a field of 40. The Australian winner played nylon string guitar with a Classical/Spanish approach. A Japanese competitor placed 2nd and played beautiful pieces at slower tempos. Ewan dazzled them (as he did the Canadian judges) with his dynamic playing and writing and his impeccable technique. Again, were it not for the Canadian Guitar Festival, he would not have had this opportunity so thanks again Del and company..."

"Yes, it was Emily. Her voice and the tightness of the band drew me from our candle-lit campsite to the stage. I was very disappointed that a lot of people had left at that point because she and her band rocked ! I posted this through her website and didn't realize my comment linked to the Canadian Guitar Festival website which is why I didn't think I needed to specify Emily's name. I guess some fingerstyle purists might question the presence of 'electric bands' - but hey, how much acoustic guitar music can one listen to in a day and the selection of 'amplified artists' was awesome !"
